After 15 years of faithful service, my hi-lift jack finally started to give hassles about 3 months ago.
I bought the hi-lift service kit about 5 years ago and threw it it the toolbox for when I need it one day and today was that day.

As you can see in the first pic, the shear bolt is a bit bent and one of the cross pins is quite badly bent. Not sure how the cross pin bent and the shear bolt belt from overloading the jack a bit at one stage.

I stripped it and clean it a bit with a cloth and some petrol. The I put it back together with the new parts and some oil, and in a few minutes my jack is back to it’s old faithful self.

New jack pins, cross pins, springs and shear bolts in place on the Hi-Lift Jack.
